The PHOTOPUR project aims to improve the water quality within the Trinitarian Metropolitan Region of the Upper Rhine (TMO) in a sustainable way. The ultimate goal of this project is to clean pesticide contaminated water originating from viticulture using a photocatalytical application.
Future benefits of the project can not only be seen an improved water quality within the entire region, but also in the exemplary handling with natural resources. In addition, an eco-label for all wine growers, controlling for their PPP entry into TMO surface waters (e.g. using the PHOTOPUR application), will be established. This aims to communicate and reward their environmentally friendliness.
